How
BriefDating Works
What is "BriefDating"?
BriefDating
is an exciting, quick, safe, and non-pressured way to meet
quality singles. In one evening, you'll meet from 7 to 20 people,
in two 1-hour rounds of 7 minute "dates." There
will also be two open mingling times to meet even more people.
What are the advantages of BriefDating?
- BriefDating
includes 7 to 14 dates -- without the need for uncomfortable
ice-breaking.
- Get
a sense that you "click" in a few minutes
- Avoid
uncomfortable 3-hour blind dates.
- There
is over a 50% match rate leading to dates!
How
does BriefDating work?
- Men and women come together at a designated location and are split
into two age groups. Only a limited number
of people can be accepted for each event, so be sure to
register early!
- There will be two 1-hour rounds of "brief dates,"
which last 5-7 minutes each.
- At the appointed time, one man and one woman are paired
up. To help make this a low pressure, fun event, you're
not allowed to ask anyone for a date or for his or her contact
information, such as phone number or e-mail address. Participants
are also given a list of questions to get you started.
- At the end of each round of dating, a staff member rings a bell
and all dates come to a halt. Participants are asked to
write on a dating card if they would be interested in seeing
this person again. This entails simply checking a 'yes'
or 'no' box. The men then get up from their seats and move
to the next table, where another woman is waiting to meet
them.
- After 2 1-hour rounds of BriefDating, each participant
will have met from 7 to 14 people. There will also be two open
mingling times (at the beginning and middle) for further
encounters.
- At the end of the event all of the dating cards are turned
in. If both sides checked the 'yes' box, then there's a
match! Organizers let participants know within 48 hours
which matches have been made, and give each match the other's
contact information, either a phone number, email address
or both (by personal preference). Then, let the dating begin!
Can someone participate in BriefDating
more than once?
Yes, we
encourage it -- if you don't meet that special someone the
first time around. There are approximately 75% new faces
to each event. In addition, you may meet only a fraction of
the participants in any one event.
